Dow-An Kou||Miss National Asia 2008 Queen, Miss Charity; Universal Asian Super Star Search 2006 Best Stage Presence; Miss Los Angeles Chinatown 2006, Fourth Princess
Dow-An Kou was crowned the 2008 Miss National Asia Queen and Miss Charity. Since her crowning, she has been actively involved with the Miss National Asia Organization and choreographs and coaches contestants for pageants. She received her B.A. in Psychology and minor in Cinema-Television focusing on Motion Picture Make-up from the University of Southern California and her J.D. from Southwestern Law School. While in law school, she continued to pursue her love for beauty and lifestyle by working as an editorial assistant for ViViD Magazine. In addition, she cultivated her passion and experience in flower arranging and event production by forming her first floral and event design company, The Green Soiree. Coupling over 10 years of intense Ikenobo Ikebana study and over 6 years of event production, The Green Soiree was the perfect project for Dow-An!
Dow-An is admitted to practice law in California. She is a member of the California and American Bar Associations, as well as a licensed California real estate broker. She also holds an Assistant Professor of Ikebana, Grade One Certification in addition to her “Kan Ban” teaching license.
In her spare time, Dow-An enjoys singing (Scott Tang Music), traditional Japanese flower arranging (Ikenobo Ikebana), cooking (Dishes by Dow-An, Romance of the Three Kitchens), and playing with her pets Tofu (Yorkie), Miso (Poochi), Jelly Bean (Morkie), Jimmy Dean “Fluffy” (Morkie), and Tiburon (Red-Eared Slider).

Dow-Ning Kou is a graduate from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering: Pre-medical. Having many interests, Dow-Ning has dabbled in many areas, outside of science as well. She has been trained as a model, published in Huffington Post as well as Rolling Hills Living, participated and placed in pageants, coached pageant contestants, successfully bred and hand raised a litter of puppies, and is currently working on obtaining her CPA designation. Dow-Ning also loves styling, making her own jewelry, experimenting with makeup, and creating fabulous hairstyles for photoshoots and everyday!
